OINP collaborates with the Canadian government through Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Foreign workers, international students, and others with the necessary skills, experience, and education apply for Ontario nomination. The employer must also submit an application approved by Opportunities Ontario. Candidates should have a minimum qualification and professional experience in the applied field as per the requirement of the program. Employer job offer category:

Applicants who are successful through any of the Ontario Employer Job Offer streams will receive an official provincial nomination from Ontario. It allows foreign workers with a job offer in a skilled occupation at Skill Type 0 or Skill Level A or B of the National Occupational Classification (NOC) to apply for an OINP nomination to permanently live and work in Ontario.
 
This stream is open to foreign workers in and outside of Canada. applicant has to fulfill specific eligibility criteria based on the stream to which they are intend to apply which distributed under three different sub-categories.

  • Foreign Worker stream: for workers in skilled positions
  • International Student stream: for recent graduates in Ontario
  • In-Demand Skills stream: for intermediate skilled workers in specific sectors, such as agriculture, construction, trucking and personal support workers

Human capital category:

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree, a Master’s degree, a Ph.D., or an equivalent certificate. In addition, candidates should have an Educational Credential Assessment report prepared by experts who can determine whether the candidate’s educational credentials are equivalent to the Canadian Education System. Candidates must have at least 400 CRS points. A higher score increases the likelihood of a candidate’s nomination. A CLB score of 7 in each of the four categories (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) is required. Candidates must have relevant work experience in their desired field. Same as employer job offer category, The international graduate streams and Ontario’s Express Entry streams ate the two sub-categories.
 
The international graduate streams: These streams operate under an expression of interest system. To qualify under the master’s Graduate or PhD Graduate streams, you must create a profile in the portal before registering an expression of interest for graduate stream, have received an invitation to apply and apply within two years of getting your graduate degree from an eligible Ontario university. This is further distributed under Masters Graduate stream and PhD Graduate stream.
 
Ontario’s Express Entry streams :

The Ontario Express Entry Program is aligned with the federal government’s Express Entry System and seeks to identify potential candidates who can contribute to Canada’s economy. Candidates with the necessary skills, qualifications, and work experience for the listed occupation are in high demand in Ontario. Those interested in immigrating to Canada can begin by creating an Express Entry profile and registering their interest in the province of Ontario. After evaluating the person’s qualifications, the Ontario Provincial Nominee Program (OINP) might contact individuals via Express Entry. Ontario officials will then encourage candidates to apply for immigration. The nomination certificate received after acquiring Ontario PNP assists candidates in increasing their score under the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) by 600 points through Express Entry. Candidates that get a high score on the Express Entry Canada CRS points are invited to apply in the next Express Entry draw, which occurs on a regular basis which distributed into 3 categories.

  1. French-Speaking Skilled Worker stream: for French-Speaking skilled workers with the required work experience, education and language proficiency in French and English enables candidate to immigrate to Ontario.
  2. Skilled Trades stream:for workers with work experience in Ontario in an eligible trade occupation
  3. Human Capital Priorities stream: for skilled workers with the required work experience, education and language proficiency in French or English. Since this program has limited seats, OINP only nominates potential candidates who receive a Notification of Interest (NOI) and are advised to apply within 45 days.
